(c) whether the Government has carried out any assessment of loss occurred due to  overflow of water to the people of Sodiem village; and
(d) if so, the details such as the name and address of the affected and measures taken by the Government to grant relief /compensation to them?

(a) whether the Government is aware that people from Sodiem and part of Marna in Siolim Constituency are experiencing low pressure from Public water supply; if so, the reasons therefor; 

Sir,Yes.

During  closure of Tillari Irrigation Canal from 13th  November 2023 to 28th  December 2023 there were these issues related to low pressure in these areas.

(b) the steps the Government has taken to overcome the Public water supply issue in Siolim Constituency; and

To solve the water supply issue ofSiolim Constituency the Government has taken up 30 MLD augmentation of the existing WTP at Assonora and the work of construction of 5.6 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Siolim.

Both works are likely to be completed in December 2024.

(c) the time frame by which the issue will be resolved?

Sir

The Government had entrusted the task to Goa State Commission for Backward Classes to facilitate Goa State Election Commission for implementation of reservation of seats for Other Backward Classes at General Elections for Village Panchayats 2022. The Goa State Election Commission received the report of the Goa State Commission for Backward Classes duly approved by the Government. Thereafter, the Goa State Election Commission carried out the process of reservation of seats for Other Backward Classes as per amended Section 7 of Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 and as per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

The reservations of seats for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes for last Panchayat Election was done as per amended Section 7 of Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, considering the data as per last preceding census.

       b. if so, the details thereof; 

       c. if not, the reasons therefor; and

       d. The basis / criteria adopted for reservation for last                       Panchayat election?
