SHRI MICHAEL LOBO, MLA made a mention about the fear an anxiety in the minds of Goan tourist taxi operator for depriving them of their daily bread due to private rent a car business.

Our Goan tourist taxi operators are known in the world for providing friendly tourist taxi services in Goa and getting their daily bread for their families.

Private rent a car business scheme have badly affected this traditional business of average Goans as it is believed that an individual has to purchase minimum of 50 vehicles to get this license which is out of reach of a common man in Goa.

It is requested to discontinue further registration of private rent a car scheme and protect our traditional tourist taxi owners right for their lively hood.

SHRI MICHAEL LOBO, MLA made a mention about the fear and anxiety in the minds of large numbers of employees engaged in the Hotel. Industry in Goa, due to poor and below subsistence pay-partner of the tourist Industry in Goa i.e. employee. The situation demands that 10% service charges to be collected from the customers in the Hotel Industry and compulsorily distributed among the employees which will encourage  them to give better services to the customer. However care should be taken that this is no way upsets the pay structure but an additional 10% service charge perk to them. Even in the Nations like Srilanka and Nepal it is compulsory to collect 10% service charge and distribute among employees.

SHRI MICHAEL LOBO, MLA made a mention about the fear and anxiety in the minds of people regarding the likely price rise of essential commodities on imposition of “Entry Tax” on Goods Carrier Vehicles carrying essential goods like Milk, Vegetables, Foodgrains, Poultry and Meat products etc., from neighbouring States like Karnataka and Maharashtra.

It is requested to exempt the Entry Tax on Vehicles carrying the essentials likeMilk, Vegetables, Foodgrains, Poultry and Meat products etc., which are consumed by our local population daily.

The steps Government intends to take on the likely rise on the essential commodities on implementation of Entry Tax.

SHRI MICHAEL LOBO, MLA made a mention about the” Molestation of a girl by Nigerian National in Arpora on 24th March and 2 incidents at Parra in December and February Similar incidents had also taken place in Calangute earlier. People from Calangute has driven this Nigerians away from Calangute because of their nefarious activities. Steps the Government would take into the matter so that further molestation on girls don’t take place in Goa.”
