“This House strongly recommends the Government to name one of the stands at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Fatorda in honour of former Sports Minister Shri Francisco Monte Cruz, as he had put in lot of efforts to ensure that the stadium is completed in a record period of six months time and was opened in the year 1989 to host the prestigious Nehru Gold Cup, the 1st International Football Tournament in Goa and after which the Stadium could host various National and International Football and Cricket matches. It was only due to his efforts with personal supervision, timely effective decisions and motivation to the team involved in the construction work, which has yielded positive results and has helped the Sports Fraternity immensely”.

“Fear  and  anxiety in  the  minds  of  the  people  which  includes  parents, students and the  youth in general that the Goa Government is actually sabotaging the Prime Minister’s ambitious ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ abhiyan by denying grants and withdrawing administrative approval granted to the Vikas Parishad’s – Mandre College of Commerce, Economics & Management  based  on  false  and  discriminating grounds.  Measures  the Government intends to take in the matter.”

SHRI LAXMIKANT PARSEKAR, Chief Minister made a statement in regard thereto.

MLAs called the attention of the Minister for Finance to the
following:

“Fear & anxiety in the minds of the pensioners of Goa due to the delay
in the implementation of Order No. 38/37/08/-P & PW (A) issued by
the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, PG & Pensions,
Department of Pensions & Pensioners welfare for the revising of
pension of pre-2006 pensioners. Steps the Government will initiate to
revise the said pension without any further delay.”

SHRI LAXMIKANT PARSEKAR, Chief Minister made a statement in
regard thereto.

for Education  to the following:

“Fear & anxiety in the minds of the students who have undertaken M-Tech
course at Goa University and who wish to continue the course that they will
be deprived of the career prospect as Goa University wants to discontinue
this course after successful implementation for last three years. Measures
the Government initiates to tackle the situation”.

regard thereto.

Session :Fourth Session 2013 | Sitting : BUSINESS FOR THE DAY -12

 S/SHRI DIGAMBAR KAMAT, MLA AND  PRATAPSINGH RANE, LEADER OF OPPOSITION moved the  following:

“This House recommends the Government to consider giving additional buses to Schools having more than five hundred students as this will help the students to attend School and return home on time.”

 S/SHRI DIGAMBAR KAMAT, ALEIXO REGINALDO LOURENCO, MLAs AND PRATAPSINGH RANE, LEADER OF OPPOSITION moved the following:

 “This House unanimously resolves that sufficient funds in the form of grants be made available to the aided Schools for construction of compound wall and providing C.C.T.V. in the School premises in order to provide security to the children in view of the increase in the crime against School children.”

SHRI DIGAMBAR KAMAT, Chief Minister made announcement in the
House about the problems faced by the fishermen and the people residing
within the CRZ and informed the House about the letter received from
Shri Jairam Ramesh, Hon’ble Union Minister for Environment of the
intension of the Government to safeguard the interest of livelihood of
fishermen community residing within the Coastal Regulation Zone.

 (House adjourned for lunch at 1 11 PM and resumed its sitting at 2 31 PM)
